The Coppa Family

This may be my longest post ever – but I couldn’t resist. I got so many great shots of lil Arch Man (8.5 month old Archer) that it was hard to contain myself.

Meet the Coppa’s! Everything about this session was great, the weather, the location (their backyard & a local park) and them! I seriously think mom needs to sign Archer up for modeling or a baby GAP ad or something! Even when he wasn’t smiling he was adorable. Amanda, Chris & Archer, thanks for the opportunity! This session will go down as one of my all time favorites. (OH and also thanks to my sister Erin for coming along to “assist” me)

Welcome Baby Russell

Yay! He’s here! Meet baby Russell. I’ve blogged several times about the Farleys – most recently some impromptu maternity photos at the beach. I think Aimee was just over 30 weeks and little Russell still had some cooking to do.

Right on time – April 14th, Aimee’s due date no less- Russell was born!  We visited the hospital when he was only a few hours old and were just in awe.  I returned the next day to take some early shots in the daylight. Then a week later we did a more formal newborn shoot at their home. The little guy was so freaking perfect – and once he fell asleep we were able to shoot freely! I think his doggie sister Faith was more work than Russell was. We are so soo thrilled to welcome Russell into this big world, and i’m loving being his honorary auntie already. My husband and I can’t wait to give Russell a playmate in September when our little boy is born!

Cat & Phil Engaged

Eek! I am really behind recently on my photography and posting on this blog – so I’m thrilled to finally post this engagement session I took back in March. Cat & Phil are two of my favorite people, and I’m not just saying that because Cat happens to be my boss ;) They are really great people and I feel lucky to call them friends. As soon as they got engaged I told them they had to let me take their photos – So the last time I was down in San Francisco we went out after work and took advantage of the bay area sunshine. These two aren’t super into the mushy stuff  (or least that they admit) so we had some really good laughs as they mugged for the camera in front of all the commuters walking by. (Who honestly could have cared less)  Cat & Phil are getting hitched in a little less than two weeks in Vegas! Congratulations guys – I couldn’t be happier for you both.

Newborn Baby Lauren

A short but sweet blog post sharing some of my favorites from a recent shoot I did with newborn baby Lauren. Big brother Lucas and Mom & Dad also made a cameo!

The Farleys

A few weeks ago we went to the coast with our good friends the Farleys.  We happened to get lucky with a gorgeous day and hit the sand  - since their family of 3 is expanding in April it was a good time to get some  maternity/family photos. We are so excited for our friends and can’t wait to meet and spoil little Russell Farley!

Baby Rubi

I am so behind in posting photos of this gorgeous little girl! Little Rubina is a few weeks older now – but things got nuts around here and I got behind in sessions. Rubina, or “Rubi”  was the sweetest little thing and although it took a while to sooth her to sleep, once she did she was snug as a bug on the blankets. Dad is a huge golf fan, and mom and dad together run a golf head covers company called Seamus Golf. So the plaid and golf ball shot were especially fitting. Even the golf ball had the #4 on it, Rubi’s birthday!  These are some of my favorites from the session. Akbar & Meghan I can’t wait to watch Rubi grow! (Ps, I had to include one shot of big brother Bandon at the end)

Camden is One

You  might remember this little cutie from a few months ago – Who could forget those adorable cheeks right? Camden recently turned one, and his mom arranged a super fun & super cute wagon themed birthday party to celebrate. The next weekend I met up with them at their home and we did a smash cake photo session. It was hilarious. Camden loved his red velvet cupcake during his birthday party – but the cake, he almost didn’t know what to do with it! With a little urging from dad, he still managed to make a big one year old birthday mess. My favorite photos are the ones in his new red wagon – his plaid shirt, furry hat & that deluxe red wagon, its cuteness overload!

Frosty Oregon Morning

It’s gray and cold here recently, but if you look close enough you can still see something gorgeous.

The Marcus Family

Meet the Marcus family! Nanette is a famous blogger – Ok, so not like really really famous, but famous! I have to admit, since I knew her through the internet but had never met in person it felt a little like meeting an online date! LoL.  But don’t worry, it wasn’t an awkward date at all!  I’ve read Nanette’s blog for a long but never connected with her until she announced she was moving from LA to PDX last year. But of course… This photoshoot was the first time we met in person, and it figures it happened to be just a few days before they were packing up and moving back to California. Oh well :)

I was a little nervous about the weather for the day we planned, as it had been rainy oregon weather for weeks. But we got lucky and had a dry morning. Well dry – meaning that it wasn’t raining. Everything else was plenty soggy.  This cute family lives in the gorgeous Westmoreland area of Portland, so we visited the Reed College campus (Trivia: Steve Jobs went to school there!)

The Marcus family is expecting a baby girl in February and big sister Em couldn’t be more excited! She started out a little shy, but as time went on she warmed up to me and I think got a special kick out it when I let her hold my camera and take pictures herself. Nanette had warned me that Em had a little accident while jumping on the bed and had a nasty scrape on her face – but by the time we did the session it had mostly healed and left only a small spot under her lip. I actually think that is one of my favorite part about the photos – it’s real life and I hope they look back and remember fondly the time Em tried to launch herself off the bed :)

It was great to meet the Marcus family in person (finally) and I hope these photos are a fitting goodbye to their year spent in Portland!

Baby Charlie

Meet 8 week old charlie and his new family!  New mom Michelle is the cousin of my best friend and when her family was recently in town for thanksgiving and we scheduled a fall photoshoot. With grand visions of fall leaves, and an outdoor setting and gorgeous sunlight – we woke up on photoshoot day to see it pouring down rain. And I mean pouring…  :( Big sad face. The option of an indoor shoot was a little trickier than normal because they were staying at their relatives home, and so it just didn’t make as much sense to shoot in a living room that wasn’t theirs. BUT we made do and did the best we could with the situation. Little charlie has the biggest blue eyes, and Michelle had picked out a ton of really really cute clothes. Who says boys don’t have cute clothes? Seriously, check out the bow tie shots! 9 year old Cameron is already proving himself as a great big brother and did a great job posing with Charlie.  Here are my favorite shots from the day. Michelle, Bill, Cameron & Charlie – Thanks for being so flexible. Can’t wait for some more photos this spring!
